RELATIONSHIPS
Your relationship should be one of the most meaningful and rewarding parts of your life, but unfortunately it may have become a place where you feel trapped, misunderstood, and ultimately alone.
You may come to therapy believing your marriage is doomed. However, what you may really be experiencing is a pattern that has developed over time—a pattern where both people are trying to be heard but neither person feels understood.
My role is not to decide who is right or wrong. My role is to help couples slow the process down, understand the dynamic/cycle they are caught in, and begin creating kinder and healthier ways of relating to one another. And in doing so, give each other the understanding—and grace—we all crave.
Drawing from evidence-based approaches including Gottman Method principles, ACT, DBT, mindfulness, and other relationship-focused interventions, I help couples strengthen communication, rebuild trust, and reconnect with what brought them together in the first place.
People are doing the best they can with the tools they have. Therapy offers a place to learn new tools that allow couples to rediscover a path forward—together.
ADDICTION
If you're struggling with addiction, addiction isn't about abuse of a substance.
It's a coping strategy for the everyday, and the painful parts of life. The gateway drug is often trauma. Not always, but often.
Chances are you've already spent enough time judging yourself. Therapy should not be another place where you're criticized or shamed.
I endorse an approach that is grounded in compassion, and curiosity. That doesn’t mean addressing addiction doesn’t search for ways to be kindly accountable. It does, but in a way that acknowledges the limits of the human experience and condition. Recovery involves an exploration of the behaviors you want to change, but also the needs those behaviors have been trying to meet.
Drawing from ACT, DBT, mindfulness-based approaches, Motivational Interviewing, SMART Recovery principles, and recovery-oriented treatment, I help clients develop practical skills while also creating a life that feels worth staying sober for.
Recovery is rarely a straight line. It's a journey with setbacks, detours, and unexpected lessons; recovery mirrors the dynamic nature of life because recovery is a lifestyle.
A lifestyle worth plugging into.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with twenty years of experience, specializing in addiction, relationship challenges, and chronic pain. In addition to my LCSW, I hold certifications as an Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (ADAC), Certified Personal Trainer (CPT), and Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT). My diverse background includes working with individuals in acute hospitals, residential treatment centers, and intensive outpatient programs, as well as providing private therapeutic services.
My therapeutic approach is integrative and holistic, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and somatic practices to address the mental and physical aspects of well-being. While I offer psychotherapy as my primary service, my certifications in personal training and massage therapy inform my understanding of the body-mind connection. I work closely with clients who struggle with chronic pain, helping them manage not only the psychological impacts but also offering strategies that promote physical health.
Having personally navigated chronic pain and health challenges, I understand the frustration and emotional toll these issues can bring. I use the same strategies in my own life that I teach my clients, which allows me to connect deeply with their experiences. My goal is to help clients achieve a greater sense of well-being by integrating mental and physical health, and guiding them toward more balanced, fulfilling lives.
Interests
In my downtime, I enjoy nature, reading, and writing creative fiction.
