EMDR Intensives

Day-Long and Half-Day EMDR Intensives

If you are ready to dive in and do deep healing work, then an intensive may be appropriate for you. Intensives are led by mental health professionals with EMDR training who will personalize a treatment plan which allows for more rapid therapy to take place. Instead of attending weekly sessions, in one day-long intensive you will complete over a month of intervention during one 4 hour session of EMDR trauma therapy. Not only do you get quicker resolution as a result of spending more time in therapy at one time, but the prolonged processing actually allows the brain to more efficiently process the trauma, so you may move twice a fast as doing these sessions on a weekly basis.

What is EMDR?

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a highly researched, effective form of psychotherapy which has been proven to help individuals recover from PTSD symptoms and trauma. According to EMDR International Association (EMDRIA), “Stress responses are part of our natural fight, flight, or freeze instincts. When distress from a disturbing event remains, the upsetting images, thoughts, and emotions may create an overwhelming feeling of being back in that moment, or of being “frozen in time.” EMDR therapy helps the brain process these memories, and allows normal healing to resume. The experience is still remembered, but the fight, flight, or freeze response from the original event is resolved.”

If you desire to experience a deeper level of healing for your brain and body in an abrreviated amount of time, please consider attending an EMDR Intensive. We would love to support you on your journey!
